Jean-Claude Marchionni Stone Sculptor
A white marble communion table standing on the marble steps of a chancel: a molded top carried on slender paired colonnettes with carved foliate capitals, set before a gothic reredos of pinnacles and tracery framing a gold-ground mosaic of Christ.

Communion Table

Marble · 1999 · Lutheran church, New York, NY

A communion table in white marble, made to stand within an existing gothic chancel — the molded top rests on paired colonnettes whose foliate capitals answer the carving of the reredos behind. Only the table itself is Jean-Claude Marchionni's work; the gothic reredos and the mosaic of Christ visible behind it are not.
